Jireh Consultants Inc. (JCi) is a Chartered Quantity Surveying company that provides Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Project Planning and Investment advice to a diverse range of private and public sector organisations in the local construction industry – consultants, contractors, finance companies and clients.
Although the company’s owner had been acting privately in this capacity for a number of years, the decision was taken to formalise these arrangements. Hence, Jireh Consultants Inc. was legally incorporated in July, 2000, with full time operations commencing in May, 2007.
Emerson Webster, BSc (Hons), ICIOB, MRICS is JCi’s Managing Director. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has been involved in the industry, both here and in the United Kingdom, for over twenty (20) years.
Emerson is a Professional Associate of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the world’s leading body of surveyors, an Incorporated member of the Chartered Institute of Builders (CIOB), and is also a Member of the Barbados Association of Quantity Surveyors (BAQS). Armed also with an Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying and a City & Guilds Diploma in Building & Civil Engineering, he is well qualified to provide professional advice in a wide range of scenarios.
Emerson has worked extensively in the industry on projects ranging from single-storey dwelling houses to multi-million dollar projects in the commercial, industrial, institutional, leisure and residential sectors.
Loandrey Webster is the Administration Director, and she provides the necessary support which every successful company needs. Loandrey provides all of the administrative functions, and also maintains the company accounts on a day-to-day basis.
Loandrey has been intimately involved in the construction industry for nearly ten (10) years, and has built up a wealth of knowledge and contacts with the leading suppliers of materials, products and plant in Barbados. She is also responsible for the maintenance of an up-to-date library of prices and costs.
Jireh Consultants Inc. believes in the use of appropriate forms of computer technology. When properly incorporated, technology greatly enhances the ability of our human resources, and enables us to reduce the time traditionally taken to provide our services, without compromising the overall quality of the product.
With this philosophy in mind, JCi has invested in some of the most advanced computer software available worldwide in the Quantity Surveying profession. CATO Software Solutions, designed and produced in the United Kingdom by Causeway Technologies Ltd., enables us to provide quick, yet accurate advice at extremely competitive costs.
The software provides a seamless electronic platform from which the entire cost management process (from feasibility to final account and beyond) can be managed. CATO facilitates the production of detailed estimates and state-of-the-art Bills of Quantities based upon internationally accepted standards of measurement. The CADMeasure module facilitates measurement directly from the CAD drawing used by most designers, thus increasing accuracy and virtually consigning the old scale rule and take-off paper to the Recycle Bin! The newest module, E-Tendering, permits tenders to be issued and returned electronically on CD. This enables us to drastically reduce the possibility of arithmetical errors and also to cut down on the time it takes to analyse and report on the tender process as a whole.
The Microsoft Office suite of Word, Excel and Project are used for the production of letters, spreadsheets and construction programmes respectively, while accounting functions are managed with the QuickBooks application. What does the Jireh Consultants Inc. logo stand for?
The orange building represents a kingdom – the Kingdom of God. The base line is the Earth on which we all reside. The columns represent the Angels who surround and protect us on Earth. The upper line, box and ornate symbol at the top represent the Triune Godhead: the Son (Jesus Christ), the Holy Ghost, and God Himself respectively, all sitting on top, above and wider than anything on Earth.
Below the Godhead, and surrounded by His angels is the “JCi” logo. This logo represents Jireh Consultants Inc., and symbolises its owner’s firm belief that both he and this company reside and operate firmly under the complete authority of God.
The name Jireh is taken from the Book of Genesis, Chapter 22, Verse 14, and the phrase Jehovah Jireh means “The Lord Will Provide”. Jireh Consultants Inc. publicly acknowledges its debt towards God, and we are confident of success given the knowledge that God always provides for His people in some way or another.
